Lk 17:20-21; Jn 18:36. Dan Kroon. The political climate is always shifting and changing in our world. Concerning issues like abortion, euthanasia, and same-sex marriage continually confront us. More and more, our nation moves away from its Christian foundation and values. It certainly scares us. But in another sense, 'there is nothing new under the sun.' The world has always, and will always, shift and change and shake and tip. Only God's Word and Kingdom stand firm. Only God himself remains unchanging and constant. But though we are not 'of the world', we are still 'in the world', and we want to know how to engage, as Christians, in light of these issues. So, this week we will consider our approach to politics, and how our understanding of God's kingdom is crucial to our engagement with the world.
